1. Warranty Coverage

Subject to the following provisions, Erebus Night Vision warrants to the Purchaser that the goods sold by Erebus Night Vision shall be free from defects in material and workmanship. Erebus Night Vision's obligations, as outlined below, shall be applicable only to failures to meet the aforementioned warranties for parts that occur within twenty-four (24) months from the date of shipment.

The warranty provided by Erebus Night Vision covers devices purchased for personal use only. It does not cover bulk purchases from auctions, government or customs clearance sales, second-hand markets, or flea markets with the intent to resell repaired or refurbished devices.

The warranty applies exclusively to the original or primary owner of the device.

The warranty does not extend to accessories, mounts, cables, bags, helmets, or finishes. 

2. Standard Warranty

• Erebus Night Vision devices comes with a 24-month warranty against defects from the date of purchase.
• If the device exhibits any defects under normal use during the warranty period, we will either repair or replace it at our discretion.
• The standard warranty is only valid for 24 months starting the date of the initial purchase. The warranty period does not "reset" to the date of a repair or replacement. This means that the original warranty period remains in effect for the device from the date of its initial purchase, regardless of any subsequent repairs or replacements.

3. Warranty Claims

In the event of a warranty claim, please follow these steps:

• Send an email to nods@erebusnightvision.co.za with the following details:
  • Your order number
  • A clear and concise description of the issue
  • Any relevant photographs or documentation

Erebus Night Vision is committed to ensuring a seamless warranty claim process and providing excellent customer service to both bulk order purchasers and their end customers. 4. Return Process

Depending on the nature of the warranty claim, Erebus Night Vision may request that the Product be returned to us for inspection and assessment. If requested, please follow these return procedures:

• Erebus Night Vision will provide instructions on how to package and ship the Product safely.
• Shipping costs associated with returning the Product will be the responsibility of the customer.
• Erebus Night Vision will evaluate the Product upon receipt and determine if it qualifies for warranty coverage.

5. Warranty Exclusions

Night vision devices

The warranty coverage will be voided under the following circumstances:

• Deliberate misuse or abuse of the device beyond its intended use, including using it for testing or review purposes.
• Any failure or damage caused by actions not consistent with normal use for which the device was designed.
• Instances of abuse, modification, theft, loss, or any unauthorized or unreasonable use of your device.
• Normal wear and tear such as wearing down of finishing, or loosening of moving parts.
• Any damage as a result of abuse, harmful exposure, involved in accidents, or any instance of negligence.

Normal wear and tear

Normal wear and tear is excluded from the warranty, and includes, but is not limited to, the gradual wearing down of finishing or coatings on the device, loosening up of moving parts. These natural and expected signs of use and aging are not considered defects in materials or workmanship and are not covered under this warranty.

Image intensifier tubes - "Manufacturer blems"

The manufacture of intensifier tubes involves a sophisticated process, including the meticulous creation of microchannel plates from delicate glass strands and the precise sealing of tube layers.

This intricate production process inevitably results in occasional imperfections such as dark spots and "pepper" (small spots). It's crucial for users to recognize that these imperfections are a natural part of the manufacturing process and do not impact the tube's performance. Therefore, they cannot be returned under warranty, as they are not considered defects.

On rare occasions, image intensifiers may exhibit spotting beyond the zone 3's radius of 17.5mm. While these instances are exceedingly uncommon and often imperceptible, they still fall within acceptable parameters and are not deemed defects so long as the usable cathode diameter is ≥17.5mm.

Image intensifier tubes - User Induced Blems

Image intensifier tubes are inherently sensitive to bright light. If exposed, they can develop black spots or stripes on the screen. Users are responsible for protecting their night vision devices from bright light, as damage from this exposure is not covered by the warranty.

Ballistic Helmets

Exclusions to this Limited Warranty for ballistic helmets include, but are not limited to: defects or damage caused by external causes, normal wear and tear, modifications, improper use, use with unauthorized accessories or equipment, improper testing, operation, maintenance, installation, or adjustment, and unauthorized installation or service performed by non-authorized personnel.

This Limited Warranty excludes wear and tear on replaceable pads.

6. Limitation of Liability

Liability under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the defective Product. We will not be responsible for any consequential, incidental, or indirect damages arising from the use or inability to use the Product.
